Giga MODE - Storyteller Overland Show Van Project Update

After much delay we have finally posted a build update on our Adrenaline Giga MODE Storyteller Sprinter! This project has been a ton of fun to work on and we are super stoked to finally show it to you all. The Giga MODE will be at most of the Adventure Van Expo gatherings this summer as well as a ton of meetups, trail drives and other events. We are far from finished with this project (we all know vans are never truly finished…) and have a ton of really cool products from Canyon Adventure Vans, Van Wife Components, Owl Vans and others that we are going to be installing on the interior of the van. We’ll do a full interior walk through once we have those parts installed and we will be posting plenty of install videos, product review and other technical videos as we continue this project.

SEMA 2023 with RRE Global

This year marks the second year running that we have had the opportunity to work with RRE Global on their SEMA show vehicle. For 2022 we build a 170WB 4x4 Sprinter with all the bells and whistles. You can see the walkthrough video from the show here: SEMA 2022 Adrenaline/RRE Global

This year we took a brand new AWD Sprinter 144WB and went even MORE wild with the upgrades! Out and Upfitters helped out in a big way with this build with an incredible Alcantara interior package featuring Scheelmann seats, custom Alcantara ceiling and walls and beautiful orange accents everywhere you look. There is even a full carbon fiber steering wheel finished in leather with matching orange stitching!

Once we got the van to our shop we immediately got work on the performance upgrades and exterior accessories along with the final wiring for all of the auxiliary LED’s and custom audio system.

KW Suspension fully electronic dampers combined with an Agile Offroad rear leaf spring pack and double sheer upper shock brackets round out the suspension package. We had a chance to drive this rig after all of the installs were done and man, the ride is absolutely incredible!

CA Tuned stepped up in a big way for this project with their front and rear bumpers as well as a brand new side step product they are bringing to market shortly.

Our team installed all of the bumpers and steps but while it was in the shop we had some help from a couple of our local partner companies with some of the extra details on the exterior. We owe a HUGE thank you to the following companies for their contributions to this project under such a compressed timeline.

San Juan Fabrication - Erik over at SJF knocked out a bunch of custom orange powder coating for us to tie the interior and exterior accents together.

Blackout Graphics - Nathan and his crew pulled out some custom vinyl work at the very last minute to ensure the build sponsor logos were in place and to add some extra orange accents to the sides of the van in addition to the vinyl already in place.

Colorado Coatings - Zach and his team sprayed all of the exterior trim pieces in a beautiful matte black textured bed liner finish to really set it off from the gloss carbon fiber parts featured throughout the van.

We can’t thank these teams enough for helping out with the last minute details, you all rock!

In addition to the exterior protection from CA Tuned we installed and Agile Offroad rear differential cover in orange to protect those precious gears. Darc Expedition delivered a beautiful set of fender extensions in carbon as well as a first-to-market full carbon fiber snorkel. Once our team had the flares and other carbon bits installed they moved to the rear of the van and mounted up the incredibly strong Xbull rear door carriers, a beautiful Xbull cargo box and of course a spare tire basket.

Inside the Adrenaline team wired up a custom Focal stereo system for a beautiful audio experience for those long road trips. The team also wired in a Switch Pro 12 switch panel for controlling all of the extra lights on the outside and had a chance to use Agile Offroad’s new Switch Pro mounting solution that integrates the controller into the upper console above the windshield.,

RRE Global really went all out on this build and we are honored they chose Adrenaline as their build partner again for this year’s SEMA show. Please come check out their display this week in Las Vegas, this is one van that will absolutely stand out!

Finally! A quick update on the construction progress of our new facility. We are hoping to have all the little details wrapped up here in the next couple of weeks and get moved into the new space by the end of the month. There are still a lot of little things to finish but it's getting exciting!! Fuel Your Adrenaline Ep. 10

Ready to kick winter to the curb and do a full send into summer? While we’re definitely still enjoying every inch of snow here in Montrose, we’re also eager to get the bikes out and shred some single track! Whether you’re heading to Baja for the rest of the winter, escaping to the desert or just getting prepared for the heat that’s soon to come, we wanted to share some tips in advance to ensure your rig is ready for all your summer shenanigans. 

Dewinterizing and sanitizing your tanks

Dewinterizing

Pro tip (from experience): Before you jump into dewinterizing, add a few gallons of water to your water tank and turn on the water pump to check for leaks. No leaks? Let’s dewinterize! 

You probably used one of two methods to winterize your van: the blowout method or the antifreeze method. Depending on which method you used, you will want to reverse those steps to dewinterize your van. If you have a manufactured van, these steps will be listed in your owner’s manual. 

If you used the antifreeze method, you’ll need to flush it before use. This means filling the water tank, running water through the system, and draining it again to remove any antifreeze or other winterizing agents from the system. Don’t forget to do both the hot and the cold lines one at a time. 

Sanitize the tanks

Sanitizing the tanks is important, especially if your van has been sitting for a while. You never know what’s been growing in your tanks and water lines. To do this, grab some chlorine and water and make a solution by mixing one gallon of water with ¼ cup of household chlorine. Using the gravity fill and pour one gallon of solution into your fresh water tank for every fifteen gallons of tank capacity. Fill the tank the remainder of the way with fresh water, turn on the water pump, and open up both hot and cold faucets until you smell a chlorine smell. Shut off the water and let the solution sit for at least four hours. This process can be sped up by making a more concentrated solution. After letting the solution sit, you can drain and flush the system until you no longer smell chlorine. 

Checklist of things to consider when preparing your van for summer:

Start with a deep clean

If you know Tim, you know how much he loves keeping his vans clean. So, let’s start with a good ole’ exterior bath.. If you’ve spent any time in the snow, you know how important it is to wash off all the road salts before it starts causing corrosion to the paint and damage to your rig. While you’re at it, take some time to inspect the roof, seals, and exterior of the van for any cracks or wear and tear. 

This is also a good time to give the inside a deep clean as well. Each season I like to take everything out of the van, wash it, donate items I don’t use, then swap out winter gear for summer gear. This is a great opportunity to deep clean every inch of the van. I’m talking cleaning the Maxx Air Fan screen, scrubbing down the floors, sanitizing the refrigerator, vacuuming out drawers, the whole 9 yards. 

Check the battery

If you’ve left your van unused for a long period, it’s important to check the battery. The battery may have lost charge, so get that baby recharged before using the van.

Check the tires and brakes

Make sure that your tires are appropriate for summer driving conditions. Check the tire pressure and tread depth, and consider switching to summer tires if you have winter tires on. Your van’s tires may have lost air pressure during the winter months, so make sure to inflate them to the recommended level. Give the tires a good once over for any cracks, bulges, or other signs of damage. You should also inspect your brakes to make sure they’re in good working condition and replace any worn-out brake pads or discs.

Check the fluid levels

Before heading out on a long adventure, change the oil and check that all fluids (coolant, brake fluid, transmission fluid, ect.) are at the appropriate levels. You should also check for any leaks or signs of wear and tear to help prevent any breakdowns or other issues that could derail your plans.

Test the appliances

Check all the appliances in your van, including the stove, refrigerator, and heater. Make sure they’re all in good working condition and replace any broken parts if necessary.

If you own a manufactured rig, you should be able to find a chart in your owner’s manual with a breakdown of how often various things should be checked (weekly, monthly, yearly, or every time you use your van). 

Gear

Now it’s time for the fun part! Grab your bikes, kayaks, paddleboards, kayaks, whatever your heart desires, and make sure that you have the appropriate racks and storage options to safely transport your gear. If you don’t, reach out to your friends at Adrenaline Vans for help 🙂

By following these tips, you can easily transition your van from winter activities to summer activities, and enjoy all the fun and excitement that the open road has to offer. VanWILD is a three day immersive experience focusing on bringing together our amazing van community for a weekend of awesome outdoor action centered around USING your van! This is not a parking lot expo or a glorified vendor sales event. This is three days of camping, exploring and sharing. Creating experiences and memories in your van with other like minded people. This year the event will be held just south of Montrose, Colorado in the beautiful Uncompahgre Valley. There will be a wide range of activities available over the weekend from motorsports and off-road driving to fly fishing and wine tasting. No matter what your ideal van weekend looks like you will be sure to find yours at VanWILD.

We will have a central location to setup camp and stay every night complete with bath houses and restrooms, Wifi, laundry facilities, shared co-working space, a bon fire site and much, much more.

All profits from this event will be donated to the Wounded Warrior Project to help our veterans and service members with physical and mental injuries, illness or wounds while serving in the armed forces.

Job Title: Diesel Technician and Upfit Specialist

Description of duties:

Manage personnel and workflow in a high-tempo auto customization, maintenance and repair shop. Work directly with the owner and sales manager to plan and execute daily shop schedule. Manage up to 6 mechanics/technicians covering all aspects of daily operations in the upfit shop as well as oversee our detailing and storage facility. This position will require hands-on mechanical work in addition to the managerial role. Training new hires, performing quality control checks and ensuring our high standard of excellence is maintained throughout all aspects of the operational department are key performance indicators for this position. Below are some of the normal duties our mechanics perform and will be required of this position.

To include but not limited to diesel engine maintenance, troubleshooting and repair. Performance modification installation (air intakes, tuning, turbo swaps, oil and transmission coolers, injection systems, air lockers, rear differentials and gear swaps). All forms of aftermarket performance and accessory installations on various chassis (primarily Sprinter vans) including complete suspension upgrades, lift kits, auxiliary fuel systems, bumpers, winches, lights, ladders, rear door carriers, roof racks and other such accessories. Electrical work to include wiring of winches, lights, air compressors, fuel pumps, fans, horns and other such 12V DC automotive electrical. Occasional work on interior coach components including heating systems, 12V and 58V DC electrical systems, 110V AC and inverter/converters, solar systems and lighting. Audio installation including plug and play systems and complete custom stereo applications. Body and chassis work such as window installation, vent fan and air conditioning unit installation, fender flares, window flares and similar components.
Tools and equipment used: All forms of mechanical hand and power tools for maintaining and repairing diesel and gasoline engines and associated chassis. Occasional air tools for fastening, cutting, grinding and deburring. Floor jacks, jack stands, overhead lifts, forklifts and pallet jacks. Ability to lift 75lbs. Ability work from the ground and while standing during shift.

It’s not a van, but it runs on diesel, has a turbo, is built by Mercedes and we absolutely love it. This is the Adrenaline W210 Mercedes Benz E300 Turbo Diesel, our latest shop project. We will be doing some very cool suspension changes, a complete vinyl color change and some insane engine modifications to this beautiful car to showcase our diesel performance work, vinyl wrap capabilities and our passion for classic Mercedes automobiles.
